Al passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024, surrounded by his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Eleanor Spangenberg; sister,
Joanne Garlough; and mother-in-law, Katherine Berczyk.
Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Rose; children, Jeff (Julie), Tom (Colleen), and Sharon (Paul) Price; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Leanore Fleischhacker; many nieces and nephews.
He attended St. Bernard's Grade School and St. Agnes High School, where he excelled in athletics. U.S. Army Veteran, long-time youth football and baseball coach at Sylvan Playground. Member of the Knights of Columbus 4021 and the Msgr. Ravoux Assembly 529. Member of the Fort Snelling Memorial Rifle Squad and the Rosetown Legion & VFW Color Guard for many years. He enjoyed fishing and watching his grandchildren play youth and high school sports. A man of strong faith who loved his family.
Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Friday, January 12 at the CHURCH OF ST. AGNES, 548 Lafond Ave, St. Paul. Visitation from 9:30 - 10:30 AM Friday at the church.
Interment St. Mary's Cemetery - North St. Paul.
