Angeline “Angie” Sandin passed away on January 30, 2018 after a long battle with dementia. Angie was born into the Scherr family in Strasburg, North Dakota on August 19, 1938. While she lived most of her adult life in St. Paul, Minnesota, her ties to her German heritage and siblings remained strong. Angie was a woman of faith and family. She worked for many years servicing others who were elderly and ill, first at Bethany Convent and then at United Hospitals until retirement. Angie was a generous spirit who always found ways to donate to causes she believed in, and was an active member of St. Agnes parish, where she volunteered her time making communion hosts for the church.Angie enjoyed music, especially Celine Dion. She took her family to weekly concerts at Como Park in the summer and enjoyed watching performances each year at the Minnesota State Fair. She also enjoyed the beach and annual family vacations to North Dakota. Angie was a devoted grandmother who loved her grandchildren dearly and enjoyed spending time taking care of them.Angie is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Richard, and is survived by her children, Christine Mitchell, Lisa Schowalter, Valerie Swetland (husband Paul), and Richard Sandin (wife Dana), and her grandchildren: Heather, Riley, Alana, Sierra, Sam, Luke, Nick & Ashley.
