Betty Bonnell passed from this world to the next at age 96.She is survived by “sister”, Barbara; siblings, Ralph (Ione), Dorothy, Bobby, and Connie (Ralph); children, Cindy, Janet (Terry), Nancy, Becky, and Chuck; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the third child born of ten and grew up in southwest Minnesota where, as she often told her children, she had to run uphill to and from school. She came from a musical family and continued that tradition with her husband (Bob) and six children (Patty, Cindy, Janet, Nancy, Becky & Chuck). Her singing filled the house along with the playing of several musical instruments by her children, including the famous comb in a baggie. Her accomplishments were many, from graduating from high school at age 16 to working her way up to the position of Senior Secretary for the Dean of Biological Sciences at the University of Minnesota. She helped the family she grew up in while taking care of the family she created in any way she could. Her eyes would sparkle when she laughed and her house was filled with the smell of freshly baked bread. Her children believed cinnamon rolls, cakes, brownies and cookies were indeed one of the many food groups. She was a strong, loving and amazing woman that we her children proudly called Mom. Betty will be privately interred at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
