Beverly J. Swanson, age 89, of Roseville, MN, passed away quietly on February 2, 2023, joining her husband, Richard of 54 years, and son, Cary, in heaven.Beverly is survived by children, Drew, Kristi (David) Hollrah, Kyle (Brenda); daughter-in-law, Lori; 10 grandchildren, Leigh, Matt (Megan), Amy (Scott) Haar, Jake (Melissa), Nick, Luke (Annah), Brooke, Savannah (Paxton) LaQua, Erica, and Kassity; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Lois) Meyer; and many other family and friends.Bev was a nostalgic woman, and loved to reminisce upon her old neighborhoods and streets, sharing memories of her youthful times. She worked a short career at US Steel until she was called to motherhood and began a long life as a homemaker and mother. Together, Rich and Bev raised 4 children. After retirement, Rich and Bev moved from the city to their log cabin on the lake in Lindstrom, where they enjoyed the tranquility of lake-living, including many hours drifting along on the pontoon.Bev enjoyed traveling the world, and continued to do so even after Rich passed, spending many winters in the Florida sunshine. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and when traversing the sand became too difficult, she was happy just sitting on her balcony and pretending her toes were in the water. She delighted in writing poetry and sharing her written words with others, cruising the back-roads in the passenger seat, and stumbling upon endless hidden gems. After lake living became too demanding, Rich and Bev returned to the Roseville area for senior living. There, she enjoyed visiting with family and friends, oftentimes with a glass of Chardonnay and a frozen Snickers bar in hand.Bev laid a foundation of faith for her family by her consistent example of daily Bible reading and devotionals, and was a long-time member of the Emmaus Lutheran and Chisago Lakes Lutheran Churches. Bev was a fragile woman in appearance, but was as strong-willed and tough as they come. She held onto her unwavering faith until the end, and was confident in her eternal destination, expressing to her children in her last days her eagerness to join her Father in heaven. She will be greatly missed among those of us still on this earth, but we celebrate her faithful life and rejoice in knowing she is united with the Lord in heaven. Her final resting place will be in Fort Snelling alongside the love of her life, Rich.Memorial service 11 AM Friday, February 10 at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME-ROSEVILLE, 2130 N. Dale St @ County Rd B.
