Carol D. Houliston

Born June 22, 1965, died December 19, 2017 after a long illness. Born in St. Paul, she graduated from Simley High School in 1983. She attended UMD, and then the U of M, graduating with a Pharm.D. degree in 1990. She worked until 1999 at the Minnesota Regional Poison Center, then co-founded Damarco Solutions in 1999, where she worked as Chief Operating Officer until December 2012. She loved her pets, gardening, writing, and the friends she made through an internet writing community, but her greatest desire was to love the study of God's word and the Lord blessed her with that. The most important event in her life was when she put her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ in January of 1991. She truly believed that to "live is Christ, to die is gain" (Philippians 1:21) and was glad to go home to be with her Lord, counting her sufferings as nothing for the glory that waited to be revealed in her (Romans 8:18).  She was very grateful to dear friends and neighbors, Maureen and Jim Fashingbauer, Jay and Heide Rought, and Gary and Monica Wierzba who helped and enabled her to continue to live at home. Special thanks to her aides, Linda Phillips, Teri Hodges, Cindra Schmidt and Kassie Ng; also physicians, Dr. Suzanne Davidowitz and Dr. Erskine Caperton. Survived by parents, Jerome and Julia Houliston; brothers, Mark (Teri), Steve (Sue), and David (Darla); sister, Rebecca; and nieces and nephews, Kassie (Andy) Ng, Neil, Vanessa (Nic), Abby, Alex and Nate. Funeral service 1:30 PM Friday, December 22 at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME - ROSEVILLE, 2130 N. Dale St. @ County Rd B. Entombment Roselawn Cemetery.
