Cecilia "Sis" Owens

Age 94, of Roseville, MN.  Cecilia "Sis" (Stamschror) Owens died peacefully on December 12, 2017 surrounded by her family.  Sis was born February 2, 1923 in Kellogg, Minnesota and was a 1945 graduate of the Saint Joseph Hospital Nursing Program and Saint Catherine University.  While her practice as a surgical nurse was limited she applied her compassionate skills to the care of neighbors, friends and family. Sis was active and engaged playing bridge at Eagle Crest where she resided and a member of the Saint Mark’s Catholic Church Bridge Group for decades. She enjoyed golf, tennis and cross-country skiing with her husband.   Sis is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Agnes Stamschror, her husband, James and son Jim, her brother John Stamschror and sister Marion Worum.   She is survived by her sister Dorothy Snyder, brother Chuck, daughter-in-law Sandra Owens, daughter Sharon (Tom) Stoffel, sons John (Judy) Owens, Paul (Deryl) Owens, Peter (Brenda) Owens, daughters Mary (Rob) Weber and Patricia (Gregg) Schneider.  Her grandchildren were very important to her and she loved hearing about their busy lives; James and Mark Stoffel, Bridgette LaFerrierre, Kathleen Roach, Colleen Collister, Madison and Jordan Owens, Cari Eversman, Gaia Barbour, Dylan Owens, Leah, Patrick and Evan Owens, Kelly Schultz, Danielle Spaanem, Andrew and Ellie Schneider. Her greatgrandchildren were a delight; John Schowalter, Cecilia Stoffel, Owen James, Aubri and Ella Slaugh, Teah Stevenson, Harper and Briar Roach, Elijah and Joshua Collister, Owen, Erik and Avery Eversman, Clare and Ivy Cecilia Barbour, Juniper Owens, Clara Lehmann, Adam and Audrey Schultz and Noah and Sophie Spaanem.  The family is grateful for the support of staff of Saint Joseph’s Hospital.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at The Church of Corpus Christi on Monday, December 18th at 10:00 AM.  Visitation will be one hour before the service.   Private interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Corpus Christi Catholic Church Memorial Fund or Saint Catherine University Nursing Student Scholarship Fund.
