Charlotte Burgess, 84 years, longtime resident of Maplewood, Minnesota went into the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on May 12, 2022. She passed into heaven at New Harmony Care Center, St. Paul, where she resided for four years.
She was born on July 10, 1937 in St. Paul to Rudolph and Agnes (Ostgarden) Novak, the third of five children. She met her husband of 65 years, Richard “Dick” Burgess at Wilson High School in St. Paul, class of 1955. They were married in St. Paul in 1957.
She was a loving wife and mother. She was also a wonderful homemaker and was employed by the Minnesota Department of Revenue for over 20 years. Her Christian faith was important to her, and she was always active in church attendance and service. She also enjoyed participating in Bible Study Fellowship. She will be remembered for her generous and kind heart, as well as her quick smile.
She is survived by her husband, Richard, of Maplewood; daughters, Danette Wilfahrt (Brad), of Fridley, Jennifer Watson (Todd), of Brainerd, and Jessica Huss (Steve), of Crosslake; grandchildren, Bradyn Watson (Morgan), of Shoreview, Philip Huss, of Duluth, Annika (Watson) Olinyk (Blake), of Woodbury, and Cody Huss (fiancée Karli Skog), of Crosslake; brothers-in-law, Tim Burgess, of California, and Dick Goar, of Maplewood; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her son, Dean; her parents; her siblings, James Novak (Mary), Richard Novak, Jeanette “Shawnee” Goar, and Judy Legut (John); her parent-in-laws, Arnold and Evelyn Burgess; and brother-in-law, James Burgess.
