Passed away peacefully on September 16, 2022 at the age of 75. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Dorothy Stute. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Stephen; children, Christine, Rebecca, and Peter (Melissa); grandchildren, Olivia, Felix, Winter, and Raymond; siblings, Jim (Bonnie) Stute, Jeff Stute, and Toni (Ron) Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. Cheryl shared her vibrant and loving spirit generously, and she devoted her life to her family. She was a true caring friend to many, especially Peg and Marlene. Cheryl was a dedicated recreation professional for the City of Saint Paul. She started as an eager volunteer and grew into the job, serving youth programs at recreation centers across the city for over two decades. The saying, “If you love your job, you’ll never work a day in your life,” was true of Cheryl. She was selfless in every aspect of her life. No one loved kids more than Cheryl. She was a foster parent, organized playgroups for the neighborhood moms and kids, and wanted to spend every moment possible with her grandchildren.
Before women were allowed to play high school sports, Cheryl played catcher for the Dairy Queen Jets fastpitch softball team during the 1960s. She also loved canoeing in the Boundary Waters and enjoyed bringing her kids on the adventures. Baking and cooking was a favorite pastime, and her freezer was always stocked with her famous loaves of banana bread. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Saturday, September 24 at CORPUS CHRISTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2131 Fairview Avenue N. in Roseville. Visitation 10-11 AM at the church.
