Christine A. Matushak (Husnik)

Beloved Wife, Mother & Grandma. 

Lifelong resident, at age 97, of Lino Lakes, MN. 

Our dear mother passed away on December 8, 2024. 

Preceded in death by husband, Louis (81) in May 2003; daughter, Anita Gallagher (53) in March 2004; parents, Joseph & Amelia (Wenzel) Husnik; and 13 farm-raised siblings. 

Christine married Louis Matushak in October 1948, and were married for 55 years. They lovingly raised four daughters in their lifelong home in Lino Lakes. 

Christine is survived by daughters, Gloria Matushak, Brenda (Robert) Hill and Merry (Randy) Gendreau; son-in-law Robert Gallagher; granddaughters, Anna Gallagher-Lee (Tad), Rachael Mork (Jonas) and Ashley Peterson (Michael Yee); and great-grandsons, Ryan, Landon and Kai. 

Mom was creative, and richly talented self-taught musician in command of the accordion, piano, organ, and her home. Musically, Christine and her sister were known as the Swing Sisters, performing at local venues, weddings and family gatherings. 

She was genuine and a rare jewel who will be deeply missed by family and friends. 

Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Wednesday, December 18 at ST. JOSEPH OF THE LAKES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 171 Elm St., Lino Lakes. Visitation at the church from 10-11 AM Wednesday. Interment at St. Joseph’s Church Cemetery.
