Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great and Great-Great GrandfatherDied peacefully November 5, 2017, at the age of 93. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Arena on the S.S. Stafford. After the war, he became a pilot of a variety of aircraft for Northwest Airlines, retiring as captain of the 747, flying internationally to Asia and Europe. He is preceded in death by Betty, his wife of almost 66 years; parents, brother, three sisters, and granddaughter, Andrea Favilla. He is survived by children Dennis (Chris), Michelle Favilla, and Tamra Cownie, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:30 AM Friday, November 10 at the LUTHERAN CHURCH OF THE REDEEMER, 285 N. Dale Street, St. Paul. Interment Evergreen Memorial Garden. Visitation 4-8 PM Thursday at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME-ROSEVILLE, 2130 N. Dale St. @ Co. Rd B., and at the church on Friday from 9:30 – 10:30 AM. We are celebrating 93 years of this kind-hearted, generous, supportive, funny, gentle man. Please dress in bright colors to share our joy in having been a part of his life.
