Darlene Helen (Carney) Keran, age 86, of Woodbury, MN passed away peacefully on September 5th, 2023.
She was born on October 21, 1936 in St. Paul. She was a graduate of St. Agnes High School, where she met and fell in love with Bill Keran; they were married February 7th, 1959. They purchased their first home in East St. Paul, then moved to Lauderdale, and finally Oakdale, and spent a total of 41 joyful years together.
Darlene worked for the DFL Party in a secretarial/supervisor role most of her career and was passionate about participating in Election Nights. She enjoyed her friends and loved golfing, traveling, playing cards, dining out, and trips to the casino. But above all else, she loved spending time with her family.
Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Betty Carney, and husband, Bill Keran.
She is survived by her children, Timothy P. (Becky) Keran, Peggy (Joe) Unger, Bill (Melissa) Keran, and Kelly (Noel) Rosenthal; grandchildren, Alexandra, Jaclyn, Peter, Samuel, Riley, Lauryn, and Billy; step-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, and Erica; step-great-grandchildren, Devahn, Ryker, Charlotte, Lachlan, Owen, Vallen and Rhaina; and brother, Jim (Joyce) Carney.
Darlene will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 6133 15th St N, Oakdale, MN 55128. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 9:30 AM Thursday.
Private burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery will follow.
