Darlene M. Johnson

Of Shoreview; passed peacefully on 3/17/18. Born in Mitchell, SD to Ralph and Mary Marine.  ​Preceded in death by parents, husband of 42 years, Charles Johnson; brother, Lawrence (Helen) Marine and sister, Vera (Jack) Moore.   She is survived by sons, Charles (Merry) Johnson & Mark (Sandy) Johnson; daughter, Shannon Johnson; grandchildren, Robert (Heather) Saffell, Becky (Eric) Lausen, Tammy (Jeff) Madsen, Kristen (Adam) Gensler; 11 great grandchildren with another due soon; brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, James (Bernie) Johnson, Dennis (Kathy) Johnson, Barbara Johnson; and 20 nieces and nephews.   Darlene grew up most of her life in Portland, OR where her love for daffodils started.  She moved to Sioux City, IA where she graduated high school and met and married Charles and then moved to Minneapolis.  Darlene is a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of Wenell Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Midwest Showmen’s Assoc. She enjoyed her work with her husband and family in the concession business.  Darlene enjoyed reading, sewing, embroidering and being with family and friends.  ​Funeral service 11 AM Tuesday, March 27 at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME-ROSEVILLE, 2130 N. Dale St. @ Cty Rd B. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.  Visitation 4-8 PM Monday and 10-11 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorials preferred to Lyngblomsten Care Center or the Humane Society of MN.   A special thank you to the staff at Lyngblomsten Care Center who gave her love and care the last year of her life.
