Age 89. Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and presence of his family on May 16, 2019. He was a devoted husband, loving and supportive father. A kind and fun-loving grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. A devout Catholic and servant of Christ. Preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; parents; 3 brothers; 1 sister; 2 grandchildren, Gabriella and Robin. Survived by son, Stephen; daughter, Anne (Amy); and grandchildren, Theresa, Michael, Maria, Eleanor, Isabel, and Edison. David was born in Minot, ND. Farmed on his family farm and enlisted in the Army. After his military service, he entered dental school at the U of M and owned a dental practice in St. Paul for 35 years. He volunteered providing free dental care to the underserved and continued to volunteer at various charities and parishes throughout his life. An avid traveler who enjoyed his family trips and trips to Vegas with friends. Enjoyed researching family genealogy. Always into health and fitness. He rode his bike to work and continued to bike and play tennis well into his 80’s. Wintered in Marco Island, Fl where he made many wonderful friends. David attended daily mass and spent his later years engaged in spiritual practice. A huge sports fan especially of the Vikings and Twins. He enjoyed a good laugh and appreciated jokes. When asked what he was most proud of he would say his family. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 6 at Maternity of Mary Catholic Church, 1414 N. Dale Street, St. Paul. Interment at Calvary CemeteryVisitation from 4-8 PM Wednesday 6/5 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home (Roseville), 2130 N. Dale Street at County Road B, and from 9:30-10:30 AM Thursday 6/6 at the church.
