Diane M. Horton

November 30, 1946 — June 10, 2022

On Friday June 10, 2022, Diane Horton, loving mother of three, passed away at age 75. Diane was born on November 30, 1946 in St. Paul, MN. She was part of the last class to graduate from Woodrow Wilson High School in St. Paul.  She attended Hamline University and the University of Wisconsin-River Falls where she earned a bachelors and masters degree in education. She raised two sons, Tom and Jeff, and one daughter, Kristi. The former Ms. Hamline University had a love of learning, history, travel, the outdoors, and family. She regularly volunteered for charities and at hospitals to help others. Her favorite international trips included going to Europe, especially Austria, to visit family and speak in other languages; locally, she enjoyed spending time at the cabin in northern Minnesota with family and friends. Throughout her life, she shared her love of learning by dedicating over 35 years to teaching children. Diane was preceded in death by her father, Jim; her mother, Marie; and her sister, Marlynn. She is survived by three children, Tom (Pattie), Jeff (Amy), and Kristi; her brothers, Jim and Michael; her grandchildren, Jake, Seth, Hadley, and Jordan as well as Tommy, Chelsie, and Bob; many lifelong friends, cousins, extended family; and longtime partner and special friend, Denny. The family would like to extend a special thanks to care giver Cheryl, memory care staff at Pillars of Grand Rapids, and St. Croix Hospice of Grand Rapids. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer's Association. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 17 at THE CHURCH OF ST. BERNARD, 187 W. Geranium Ave., St. Paul. Visitation will be at the church from 10-11 AM Friday.
