Age 74, of Bemidji, MN passed away on July 23, 2021. Don was born in Grand Rapids, MN in 1946 and spent his childhood in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He graduated from Ladysmith High School (Ladysmith, WI) in 1964. After high school, Don served his country in the Navy as a door gunner and an aviation electronics mate. When his father fell ill, he received a discharge to help his family. Had he not had to leave the Navy at that point, he would have been able to join his shipmates on the U.S.S. Hornet in retrieving Apollo 11, America's first lunar landing mission. After leaving the Navy, Don joined Ramsey Engineering Co. as an electrical inspector and was soon promoted to Field Services Engineer. He left the company briefly to establish a grocery store in Hackensack, MN, and then returned to Ramsey, working his way up to Sales Manager and traveling extensively throughout the United States. Don retired from Ramsey (which had earlier become a part of Thermo Fisher) in 2010. Always an avid fisherman and hunter, Don retired to Bemidji to a new home on Little Turtle Lake. He enjoyed taking his family and friends hunting and fishing and regaling them with stories of his travel and outdoors adventures. Don is preceded in death by his mother, Marian Eloise (Minetor) Frazey and father Charles Wesley Frazey. He is survived by his sister, Susan; son, Douglas; daughter, Deborah; and grandchildren, Katrina, Daniel, and Carissa. A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday August 8, from 2-5 pm, at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME-ROSEVILLE, 2130 N. Dale St. @ Co. Rd B. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Minnesota Humane Society.
