Doreene M. O'Brien (Miller)

Doreene passed away at the age of 93.​

Survived by daughter, Kathleen (Steve Shumaker); nieces, Deb Simonds (Stan) and Diane Schnagl (Neil); sister-in-law, Donna Felska; and dear friend, Jan Viktora (Leo), as well as many other close friends​.

Doreene was born in Duluth, MN, moved to St. Paul, MN at the age of two, and grew up there. A graduate of Central High School, her work career consisted of Northwest Airlines, the First National Bank of St. Paul, St. Thomas Academy, Hamline University, and The St. Paul Seminary. She also owned and operated a ceramic store in the late 1970s and early 1980s.​

Doreene had a passion for arts and crafts, from decorative candles to ceramics (for which she won several awards), to acrylic and watercolor painting, to card making and much more.​ She had various collections throughout her life, such as rocks and seashells, but her largest was small turtle statues and carvings.​

Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 1 at The Church of St. Odilia, 3495 N. Victoria St., Shoreview. Visitation at the church from 10-11 AM. Luncheon to follow the service.
