Edward J. Kelly

December 15, 1938 — September 28, 2021

Roseville

Passed away Sept. 28, 2021, with his loving children by his side.  Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marlene Kelly; father, Leo Kelly; and mother, Clara Kelly.  Remaining to cherish his memory are children, Katie (Mike) Kelly-Landberg, James, Erin (Derek); and treasured grandchildren, Claire, Lilly, Olivia, Zara, Anya and Zach; and his sister, Marylin Maher (John). Ed was born December 15, 1938, in Newton, Iowa. He graduated from St. Ambrose University and had a decorated 30-year career at 3M with colleagues he adored. After retiring, he founded his consultancy EJK & Associates through 2019. Ed met his beautiful wife of 52 years, Marlene, in Peoria, IL and married "the Babe" on November 23, 1968. In 1973 they moved to Roseville, MN where they raised three children.   Our dad was a favorite of many. He was witty, compassionate, curious and would light up a room the moment he arrived. If you were fortunate to be in Ed's presence, you felt special. He had such a gift of being present and thoughtful.  Ed was a loving husband, father, and proud grandfather who enjoyed spending time with the people he cherished. Swimming at the Kelly pool, ski trips, traveling with Marlene, watching MN sports, and singing the 12 Days of Christmas with a solo as the Partridge in a Pear Tree were among his favorite things.  Our father's passing leaves a void in our hearts. His strong faith assures us he's passed into the arms of God to be reunited with Marlene and the rest of his heavenly family.  Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Friday, October 8 at THE CHURCH OF ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST, 380 E. Little Canada Rd., Little Canada. Live Streaming available at https://www.sjolc.org/livestream. Visitation 4– 7 PM Thursday at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME-ROSEVILLE, 2130 N. Dale St. @ County Rd. B and also at church Friday from 10-11 AM. Private Interment at St. John's Church Cemetery.
