Age 80, of St. Paul, passed away June 21, 2018Edward Philip Hadd was born on October 29, 1937 in St. Paul, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Randolph Heights Presbyterian Church in St. Paul. He attended Monroe High School in St. Paul. In 1958 he joined the U.S. Army and served in the 11th Airborne from 1958 to 1963, stationed in the U.S.and in Germany.Ed attended Dunwoody Institute studying electrical engineering. He had a long career in electrical engineering, rising through the technical engineering ranks to positions in engineering design and development and management at NCR Compton in St. Paul.In 1961, he married Kathryn Carris, and to this union his two children, Mary and Gary, were born. In 1991, he married Audrey Vaale Dyson.Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph and Alice Hadd; sister, Shirley; brothers, Gordon, Harry, Joe, Don, John, and Tom; and his daughter, Mary.Ed is survived by his loving wife, Audrey Hadd; son, Gary Had; sister, Jeanne Reher; Todd and Julie Geisler and their children, Grant, Gage, and Greta; also many nieces, nephews and friends.Ed spent a good part of his life outdoors - hunting, fishing, boating, water skiing, snow skiing, and snowmobiling. He was strong in his faith in God.He faced battling terminal cancer with strength and peace, giving an example to all those around him.Funeral Service 10:30 AM Thursday, June 28 at NORTH HEIGHTS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2701 N.
