Edward C. Zappa

January 19, 1932 — November 3, 2017

Preceded in death by parents, Anthony Zappa and Minnie Tucci; stepfather, John Tucci; sisters, Mary and Virginia; and brother, Jerry.  Survived by wife of 64 years, Pat; children Kathy (Bob) Paakh, Ed Jr., Mary Baker, Janelle (Rankin) Patet, John, and Joe (Chris); 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Nick (Diane) Tucci, Joe (Kathy) Zappa, Gene (Maryann) Zappa, David (Marilyn) Tucci; and sister-in-law, Geraldine Tucci. Ed started his career in the food industry in 1957 as a salesman with Fist Brokerage Company.  He retired as the President and CEO in 1990. He was an avid sports fan and dedicated coach of youth sports in Roseville.  Many will remember Ed as the voice of hockey at Roseville Ice Arena with his signature phrase, "Let's Play Hockey". Ed was committed to his family and his faith and was a generous and kind friend to many.  A special thank-you to the 4th Floor staff at Presbyterian Homes, Johanna Shores, for the love and care shown to Ed over the past six years. ​Mass of Christian Burial:  10:00 AM Friday, 11/10 at Maternity of Mary Catholic Church, 1414 N. Dale St., St. Paul. Visitation:  4-7 PM Thursday, 11/9 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home (Roseville) and also at the church on Friday from 9-10 AM. Interment: Elmhurst Cemetery​Memorials preferred to MMSA School, Sharing & Caring Hands or donor's choice.
