Elaine Ketterling

Age 83 of Salinas, CA, formerly of Roseville. Passed away on Friday November 23, 2018 at CHOMPS in Carmel, California.  She was born Elaine Frances Bertha Richter on May 23, 1935 in New Prague, Minnesota, she was the oldest of three daughters to Clarence and Otillia Richter.  She is survived by the love of her life, Wyman Ketterling, her husband of 61 years; three daughters, Kay Addison (Joel), Carol Neff (Kevin), and Karen Lee (John); granddaughters, Katrina, Kristen, Karla, Marisa and Meghan; sisters, Lois Agrimson (Russell), and Carol Richter.  Elaine grew up in Roseville, Minnesota where she graduated from Central High School in St. Paul. She had a long and happy career in Nursing. Elaine worked at St. John’s Hospital and Regions Hospital in Minnesota. Elaine and Wyman relocated to Salinas California, where she worked at Fort Ord in Monterey, California. She was a generous volunteer at Natividad Hospital in Salinas where the biggest joy of her life was working with the newborns, many babies are enjoying her beautiful quilted blankets. She was a joyous giver of her time and hosted many special events at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard in Salinas, California. Serving meals to the homeless people at Dorothy’s Kitchen, and helping provide physical therapy to youngsters in Jamaica. Elaine will be remembered for her skills in sewing, her love of gardening, her strength and dedication, her care of infants and tiny dogs, and her deep and abiding faith.  Funeral service 11 AM Saturday, December 8 at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 1660 West County Rd. B, Roseville. Visitation at the church from 10-11 AM Saturday.  Interment: Sunset Memorial Park In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.
