Age 86, of St. Paul.
Frank received his angel wings on the morning of December 20, 2023 surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 2, 1937 to Jose Aguirre and Henriqueta (Moreno).
Preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Aguirre (Nelson); parents, Jose and Henriqueta; brothers, Henry, George, Ruben, Michael, Charles, Robert, William "Bill"; sisters, Margaret Grant, Mary, Aurora Tuccito, and Olivia Clarke.
Survived by his daughter, Debbie; son, Paul; grandchildren, Alejandra and Andres Pastrana; brothers, Peter, Louis, and Joe; his loving companion, Beverly Dyke; many more nieces, nephews, and friends.
Frank was best known for his quiet demeanor, selflessness and big heart all of which had a way of making a lasting impression on all those who knew him. Growing up in a large family of 15, he was number 12. He was the first of the brothers to play high school sports (Football and Track) at Mechanic Arts High School in St. Paul, MN. Upon graduating in 1955, Frank joined the Marine Corps.
When Frank completed his service to Country, he went to work for Webb Publishing as a bindery operator. Frank brought the same dedication and service to Webb, which later became Quebecor, for a total of 40 years when he retired. He had a strong work ethic, and never shied away from picking up overtime hours to help the company and provide his family with an amazing life.
Frank married the love of his life, Sharon (Nelson) on January 21, 1967. They had two children, Debbie and Paul. Frank also had two grandchildren, Alejandra and Andres. Throughout their marriage, they traveled, maintained high school friendships, and family was the center of it all. Aguirre and Nelson family reunions were never missed. Frank and Sharon were very involved grandparents never missing a choir concert, play, dance recital or soccer game.
In 2006, Frank grew in his role as a husband to Sharon and became a primary caretaker when she was diagnosed with lung cancer. Frank stayed by her side making sure she had everything she needed, was comfortable, and knew she was loved until her passing in 2008.
In the summer of 2014, Frank met Beverly Dyke. Their first encounter made him perk up again and put a different kind of smile again on his face. The last nine years brought him much joy, love, a few more travel adventures, cabin visits, and dinners with Bev and her family.
He was a faithful Twins and Vikings fan and attended games with his grandchildren or watched the games on TV. He was both a “pupa” and a role model for them up until the day he passed. His strong work ethic, perseverance, selflessness, kindness, commitment to his country, the land of opportunities, faith in the Lord and love for his family will live on for generations to come.
Frank was the best husband, dad, brother, uncle, companion and friend to so many. He will be dearly missed.
