Fredrick Dean Hefty died on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 of Lewy Body Dementia. He was born on December 16, 1947 to Fred & Dorothy Hefty in Eau Claire, WI. Telling stories was the way Fred connected with the ones he loved. His many hobbies are what kept him young and curious. He took up TaeKwonDo later in life, becoming a second degree black belt. He loved leatherwork, genealogy, traveled to visit his son Aaron in South Korea and Colombia and volunteered as a Minnesota Master Naturalist.Fred is survived by his dear partner Patricia and loving children, grandchildren, brothers, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Many thanks to the staff at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center and Lyngblomsten Care Center.A celebration of Fred’s life will be held on Saturday, October 16, with an open house from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Roseville VFW Post #7555, 1145 Woodhill Drive, Roseville, MN.
