Gary M. Kiedrowski

Age 70; passed away peacefully on July 29, 2020.​Preceded in death by mother and father, Mary and Kenneth Kiedrowski.   Survived by sisters, Karen (Chuck) Glaser and Connie Kiedrowski.  Oh, did Gary love a good fishing story… you’ve probably heard them over and over again… Gary loved to hunt and fish and spent many summers on Lake Mille Lacs.  He knew the walleye and “sunny” spots and always had the latest tackle and lures.  He enjoyed spending time with his cousins Barb, Darlene, Donny and Jim, and rarely missed the annual “Octoberfest” picnic at Como Park or the bowling on Easter Sunday at Falcon Lanes. Gary adored his two nieces, Carly and Shayla, and his two nephews, Chase and Carson. He loved setting up "guessing games” for the kids, usually ending in some treasure (coins from the bar) or some things he picked up at an organic farm (chicken eggs). He came to many of their sporting events and recitals.  In the past few years, he had front row seats at Shayla’s theatrical performances and went to as many of Carson’s basketball games as possible (despite a 3 hour drive each way from Glenwood to Stillwater High School).  He was so proud of Chase and Carson’s Eagle Scout awards.  He marveled at Carly’s world travels, Chase getting on the U of M Dean’s list, and he nicknamed Carson “the Piano Man” for his keyboard talent.  Fortunately, through video chat the last several weeks, Gary was able to see and talk to Carly in New Zealand and meet the kids’ new black lab puppy “Cooper”.   A final story...Gary had been retired from Jimmy’s Bar in Northeast Minneapolis for many years.  On Gary’s ambulance ride to the hospital a week ago, he convinced the medics to call Jimmy’s, where he worked for 35 years, to let them know he was not going to be in.  Ironically, he received the Catholic Last Rites from a “Fr.
