Gerald L. Kunkel, Sr.

Born in Chicago, IL on December 23, 1942.  He went to be with the Lord at 3:11 PM on September 21, 2022. Gerald was a great man, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.  He not only was a father to his children, but was a wonderful role model in his occupation as Lead Custodian Supervisor at Mounds View High School.  He loved his cabin in Sauk Centre, his dog Skye, spending time with his wife and family, attending Timberwolves games and watching the Minnesota Vikings.  Gerald married Sheila Claire Flor on June 29, 1963 at St. Joseph of the Lakes Catholic Church in Lino Lakes. Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick & Marjorie; in-laws, Michael Sr & Adele Flor; many other aunts and uncles. Survived by wife, Sheila Claire; children, Gerald Jr. (Debbie), Lisa Johnson (Dave), Scott Kunkel, Todd (Kathy); 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother, William (Brenda). Funeral service 11:00 AM Saturday, September 24 at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME-LINO LAKES, 7050 Lake Dr.  Interment St. Joseph’s Church Cemetery.  Visitation from 10-11 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
