Glennis, age 72 of Mendota Heights, MN flew away on the wings of the wind on March 19, 2022, after a short battle with cancer. Glennis spent her childhood in Columbia Heights, went to Hamline College in St. Paul, and lived in Minneapolis before moving to the suburbs. For 36 years, Glennis was a flight attendant with a penchant for international destinations. Her passion for travel was surpassed only by her love for her husband, 4 children and 13 grandchildren. Glennis had an incredible intellect and exceptional humility, which made her approachable and loved by all who met her. She loved to chat, was a passionate storyteller while also a sweet and caring listener. Her quick wit and fantastic sense of humor made her a riot to be around, even in her final days. Glennis’ zeal for celebration and festivity made any gathering she attended exponentially more fun. She was gentle, kind, curious, accepting, patient and thoughtful, with a strong sense of justice. She was immensely loved and will be tremendously missed. Our hearts are truly broken by her unexpected death. Glennis is preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor Byrne; aunts, Margaret Archer, Lucille “Bibbs” Ziegelmeyer, and Lillian Hovland. Glennis is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Richard; her four children: Elizabeth (Ben) Hanf, Emily (Terry) St. Martin, Mary Svendsen, and Zachary (Emily) Svendsen; her thirteen grandchildren: Madeleine, Genevieve, Gabriel & Clara Violette Hanf; Theodore, Nathanael, Mitchell & Ryan St. Martin; Anastasia Baron; August, Victoria, Katherine & Alice Svendsen; her cousin, Peter Archer; many other relatives and friends.Funeral Service 1:30 PM Friday, March 25 at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME-ROSEVILLE, 2130 N.
