At age 74, Gordy ran the race with endurance that God set before him. (Hebrews 12:1) He spent his last days at his home surrounded by family, friends, and his best buddy Rocky.He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Johnson; father, Ralph Johnson; brother, Gary Johnson; sister, RaeAnn Bergengren; sister, Gloria Johnson.Gordon is survived by his wife, Janice Johnson; dog and bestest bud Rocky; daughter, Dawn (Mike) Pavelski; sons, Mark (Aimee) Johnson, Brian (Kim) Johnson; grandchildren, Kelsey Thome, Trevor (Danelle) Cartwright, Carter Johnson, Wyatt Johnson, Evan Pavelski, Spencer Pavelski, Gunnar Johnson; great-grandchildren, Kaci Thome, Bentley Cartwright, Knox Thome, Braxton Cartwright; sister, Geraldine (Larry) Haferman; brother, Greg (Wendy) Johnson; cousins; and many nieces and nephews.Gordon (Gordy) was in the U.S. Navy from 1965-1970 during Vietnam and served on the USS Constellation. Gordy gave his life to the Lord in 1971 with his wife Janice and walked faithfully with the Lord for the rest of his life. Gordy cherished spending time with his family more than anything else. Gordy loved hunting, fishing, camping, and any activity in the great outdoors. Gordy loved to play cribbage and most card games. He really enjoyed working on and repairing cars and especially buying different cars. He loved working in the yard with his best buddy Rocky along at his side.He fought the good fight; he has finished the race; he kept the faith.A funeral service for Gordy will be held on Wednesday, May 30 at 12 Noon at FAITH COMMUNITY CHURCH, 777 Carmichael Road, Hudson, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held at the church from 11 AM - 12 Noon Wednesday 5/30. A luncheon reception at the church will follow the service. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery; a committal and honors service will be held there on Thursday, May 31 at 10:15 AM.
