Harlan G. Hegdal

Harlan G. Hegdal, 91, of St. Paul, passed away on January 9, 2025. 

Harlan was born to Helmer and Myrtle Hegdal in Mankato, MN. He grew up in Nicollet, Arlington, and St. Peter, where he graduated from high school. Harlan retired from the MN Dept. of Transportation after which he and Kirsti spent time skiing, sailing, and traveling. He also pursued his passion for researching and documenting his family genealogy. 

Harlan is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kirsti; his children Ellen Hegdal, Harlen Greg Hegdal, Sue Bailey (Scott), Linda (Paul) Heidelberger; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson; sister Sharon Warneke, nieces, and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his daughter Emily Hrdina; 2 great-granddaughters, Makayla and Hazel; sister, Diane (Tom) Roos; and brother-in-law, Bob Warneke.

Funeral service 11:00 AM Saturday, January 18 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home (Roseville), 2130 N. Dale St. at County Rd. B. Visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 - 11:00 AM Saturday.

Interment will be 11:00 AM Friday, January 24 at Rauha Cemetery in White Township, MN. Immediately following the interment, there will be a reception at St. Mark's Lutheran Church (Palo), 4096 Hwy. 100, Aurora, MN 55705.
