At the age of 93, Hazel “Pinky” Jensen of Shoreview, MN, passed away peacefully. She was born to Richard and Minnie Olson in Dassel, MN, the eldest of four children. She moved to the Twin Cities when she was 17 and attended the Minnesota School of Business. She worked “the miscellaneous desk” at Northwestern Bell for 17 years where she met her future sister-in-law and was introduced to her husband of 61 years, William “Bill” Jensen of Staples, MN. She left the phone company when they had their children, Susan and Richard. Bill and Hazel enjoyed their retirement years as winter Texans in Rockport where they made many good friends. Hazel enjoyed camping, walking, reading, crafts/painting, gardening, and being with her family. She enjoyed those around her and laughed easily. She was thoughtful, down to earth, adventurous, youthful, and kind. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Minnie Olson; her brother, Winton Olson; and brother-in-law, Elwood Wessman. She is survived by her husband, William E. Jensen; her sisters, Marie (John) Wright and Audrey Wessman; her children, Susan (Michael) O’Neill and Richard (Rose) Jensen; and grandchildren: Colin and Ryan Jensen; and Joshua and Nathan O’Neill. Memorial service 10:30 AM Thursday, March 22 at NORTH HEIGHTS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2701 N. Rice St., Roseville. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation at church from 9:30-10:30 AM Thursday.
