Henry T. Miers

May 13, 1944 — September 28, 2024

Henry "Hank" Theodore Miers, Age 80, of Lino Lakes, Minnesota, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at his home.

Henry was born on May 13, 1944 to Alvin and Cecilia (Gross) Miers in Hillman, MN. He went to a one room schoolhouse until 6th grade. After graduating high school, he worked as an ore carrier, bricklayer, and mason. Later he started Rooster Construction, focusing on excavating and general contracting. Henry's work ethic from growing up on the farm carried through in all of his careers and it is no surprise that he became a successful entrepreneur in running Rooster Construction for decades.

Henry married the love of his life, Jean Ann Woitalla on October 28, 1967. They were married for 56 years. Their married life began in an apartment across from Midway Hospital in St. Paul, MN. They built their 1st home in Centerville, Minnesota. A few years later they built a second home in Lino Lakes that became their forever home where they created so many memories with their family and friends.

Henry enjoyed many years traveling to Sturgis on his Harley, spending time at his home in Arizona with family and friends and began golfing. Henry was a master of yard art. He could look at "stuff" and turn it into a piece of art that would be displayed in yards well beyond Minnesota.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Cecilia; sisters, Alice Martin and Lucy Miers; brothers, Willie Miers and Jim Miers; sister-in-law, Pat (Schlegel) Miers; brothers-in-law, Jesus 'Nick' San Nicolas, Robert 'Bud' Schlegel, Mel Peters and Jim Benjamin; and nephew, John Acosta.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; children, Steven Alvin (Barb) Miers, Curtis Theodore Miers (Rebecca Johnson) and Chad Michael (Jackie) Miers; grandchildren, Mitchell (Riley) Miers, Matthew Miers, Mason (JoHanna) Miers, Eric Miers, William Miers, Garrett Miers and Makena Miers; siblings, Jeanette Peters of Stacy, Bernice Benjamin of Brainerd, Jerome Miers of Schaumburg IL, Helen Schlegel of Pierz, Mary (Gary) Stout of Anoka, Anna (Keith) DeChaine of Deerwood, Theresa Eide of Shakopee, Paul (Margaret) Miers of Cedar, Susan (Tim) Oie of Buffalo, Duane Miers of Brainerd, Greg (Sonja) Miers of Taylors Falls; brothers and sisters-in-law Dale Martin of Raymond, Ann Miers of Onamia, Joan Puente of New Prague; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
