Henry was born to Reinhard and Gertrude Meyer on November 24, 1962 at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, MN. He was the seventh of eight children; John, Thomas, Joseph, Mary, William, Robert, Henry and Ann. He grew up in the Midway Area and later the Como Park Area of St. Paul and graduated from Como Park Senior High School in 1982.As a young adult, Henry spent much of his time with his nieces and nephews, enjoying all the activities the metro area has to offer. He was an avid Minnesota sports fan and held season tickets for multiple years. He frequently attended North Stars hockey games and Timberwolves basketball games with one or two of the kids in tow. He also loved taking the nieces and nephews on outings to the “newly opened” Mall of America or other adventures around town. When not out and about, he could regularly be found engrossed in a competitive game on the Sega Genesis or other game system. Many of his nieces and nephews owe their gaming skills to time spent with their Uncle Henry. He is fondly remembered for the positive impact he had on each of their lives.Henry worked for Aramark for 12 years, followed by O’Reilly Auto Parts for the past 19 years. He was a mentor to new O’Reilly employees and was known for being extremely conscientious and dependable. Henry was a devoted son who shared a home with his parents, allowing them to remain in their home until the end of their lives, thanks to his care and assistance. Giving and generous through the end, he became a tissue donor through LifeSource, gifting many people with life changing transplants.Henry L. Meyer, age 59, of St. Paul, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2022. Preceded in death by his father and mother, Reinhard & Gertrude; and sisters-in-law, Bernadette, Carol & Dawn. Survived by five brothers, John (Joanie Gorman-Meyer), Thomas (Sherry), Joseph, William & Robert (Nancy Geszvain); two sisters, Mary (Jeff) Chapman & Ann (John) Anich; 15 nieces and nephews; and many other relatives & friends. Visitation from 12-2 PM, with service beginning at 2 PM, on Thursday, October 20 at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME-ROSEVILLE, 2130 N. Dale St. at County Rd. B. Private interment Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
