Isabel Juliet Koegel

January 23, 2003 — April 6, 2021

Hugo

Preceded in death by her grandfather, Emmitt Haraldson, step-grandfather, Charles Beckman; cousin, Noelle, and many great-grandparents.

Survived by her loving parents, Peter and Amy (née Haraldson) Koegel; grandparents, Mary Anne Beckman, Pauline Crea, and Peter Koegel; aunts and uncles, Jason (Lorraine) Haraldson, Juliet Koegel, Sherry (Brian) Rossini, and Steve (Erin) Koegel; cousins, Tyler, Hannah (and her son Gavin), Jared, Mallory, Cameron, Austin, and Clara; many great-aunts, great-uncles, and other loving family.

Isabel was born with a neuronal migration defect (brain abnormality), but she did not let that define her.  She had an infectious smile and laugh that captured everyone she met. She put a smile on everyone’s face and she kept many on their toes (including her doctors). Isabel loved movies and music and anyone that would sing for her was rewarded with an ear-to-ear grin. She also loved to move – swimming, bicycling, swinging, walks inside and outside, dancing, horseback riding and going for pontoon rides. She was also our little ‘trickster’ – fake sleeping to get out of schoolwork (and anything else she didn’t want to do), hiding on grandma and mom at times, rubbing fudge on her face when no one was looking, unhooking feeding and med tubes, and throwing her glasses or toys across the room so we couldn’t find them or had to go fetch them. Though Isabel’s life brought medical challenges, they pale in comparison to all the gifts and blessings she brought to those in her life. Isabel taught us unconditional love, deep compassion, humor in unpleasant situations, to cherish what you have in life, that there is always something to be grateful for and how important patience is. Isabel has spread her wings and is eager to put her earthly knowledge to use in her heavenly life.

A visitation will be held from 4-8 PM Friday, April 16 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home (Lino Lakes), 7050 Lake Drive (Co Hwy 23). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Isabel on Saturday, April 17 at 12 Noon at the St. Genevieve Parish Community Center, 6995 Centerville Road, Centerville. The service will be livestreamed at   https://www.stgens.org/livestream. Interment will take place at St. John’s Church Cemetery in Hugo following Mass. A luncheon will be held at Vannelli's By the Lake, 55 Lake St S (Hwy 61), Forest Lake, following the interment (approximately 1:45 pm).
