James "Jim" Horky passed away peacefully on March 23, 2024 at the age of 86. Born May 16, 1937 in Crete, Nebraska.
Preceded in death by parents, Bernard "Bud" and Irma Horky; brother, David Horky; and partner, Judy Seery.
Survived by daughter, Dianna (Todd) Peters; grandson, Eddie Peters; granddaughter, Sara (Jason) Noren; sister, Kathryn (Layne) Bucker; and many nieces and nephews.
Graduated from Jolley High School, Jolley, Iowa in 1955.
Served in the Marine Corps from October 1955 to October 1958. While serving in the Marines, he enjoyed traveling around the world by ship, and hiking up Mount Fuji in Japan.
He enjoyed drag racing his 1962 Impala. His favorite pastimes were going for long rides on his Goldwing motorcycle, which was later converted to a trike. He enjoyed snowmobiling in northern Minnesota with family and friends, fishing trips to Kenora, Ontario and Cormorant Lake in Manitoba, Canada, and his trip to Utah where he toured the state on a Goldwing.
