James R. Purinton

Passed away peacefully at home on December 31, 2019.​

Age 77, of St. Paul. 

Preceded in death by parents, John and Patricia; brother, Thomas; and aunt and uncle, Florence and Milton Carlson. 

Survived by wife of 50 years, Mary Ellen (nee Hollish); sons, Kyle (Stacey), Kevin (Monica), and Keith (Mary); grandchildren, Tyler, Riley, Jack, Gavin, Max, and Leah; sisters, Mary (Bill) Johnson and Winifred Nonnemacher; other family and friends. 

Jim was an Air Force veteran; he was retired from Hyman Freightways, and was a longtime sports official. He loved fishing, bowling, and time with his grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Tuesday, January 7 at MATERNITY OF MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1414 N Dale St, St. Paul. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation 4-8 PM Monday at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME-ROSEVILLE, 2130 N Dale St at Co Rd B, and 9-10 AM Tuesday at the church. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) Foundation or Maternity of Mary Church.
