Janet Mae (nee Bubach) Bauer died at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN, on September 25, 2019, at the age of 81. Janet was born September 1, 1938 in Marion, ND. She was the daughter of Clarence and Olga (nee Weight) Bubach. She was baptized on September 18, 1938, at St. John Lutheran Church, Marion ND.Janet received her elementary education in a rural school for the first six grades and then at the Marion Public School. She graduated from Marion High School in May of 1956. After high school she attended St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Fargo, ND, graduating in 1959. After graduation she work as a registered nurse in a number of different positions over the years. She spent 20 years working as a Public Health Nurse in Sheridan and Stark Counties in North Dakota. Janet married Robert Bauer on June 18, 1961. She and Bob were blessed with four sons; Mark, Dennis, Christopher and Jonathan. During their 58 years of marriage they lived in Fargo, ND; Morris, MN; Minot, ND; McClusky, ND; Dickinson, ND and Mounds View, MN. She was an active member in the local Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod congregations in the communities in which they resided. She was especially active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, holding a number of different elected positions.She is survived by her husband, Robert; her sons, Mark (Trish) Bauer, Kasson, MN, Dennis (Lisa) Bauer, Lino Lakes, MN, Christopher Bauer, Littleton, CO and Jonathan (Dolene) Bauer, Mount Pleasant, SC. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Philip, Joel, Leah, Sam, Ben, Emily, Zach, and Reagen Bauer; and her siblings, Joyce Matzke, Marion, ND, Kathy (Tim) Callahan, Albuquerque, NM, and Rodney Bubach, Grand Forks, ND; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.Preceding her in death were her parents, Clarence and Olga (nee Weight) Bubach; brother-in-law, Duane Matzke, and sister-in-law, Pati Bubach. The funeral service will be held at University Lutheran Chapel, 328 - 10th Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN, on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 12:00 Noon. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at University Lutheran Chapel. Interment will be held at the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Marion, ND, on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 10:30 A.M.
