“Jeanne” was born December 2, 1931 to Nicholas and Mary (Szloboda) Csoma in East Chicago, Indiana. She was confirmed entirely in Hungarian in 1945, at the First Hungarian Evangelical and Reformed Church in East Chicago. Around age 14, her family moved to Bancroft, Wisconsin, where she attended school and then graduated in 1950 from Tri-County High School in Plainfield, Wisconsin. After graduating she moved back to East Chicago and worked for the telephone company. She met her husband Keith at Great Lakes hospital and they were married in Crown Point, Indiana. They moved to St. Peter, Minnesota while Keith attended college, after graduation they moved to Indus, Minnesota. In 1966, they purchased a home in Circle Pines, Minnesota, where they became devoted members of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where they sang in the choir for many years.
Jeanne enjoyed summer life at the cabin they built on Rainy Lake, taking several canoe trips, picking blueberries, watching the beautiful sunsets, and visiting with lake friends. Jeanne even organized Christmas in July so they could celebrate the holiday with their lake friends. They loved to travel, winter in Texas and socialize with friends. She enjoyed going on cruises, was an avid reader, loved to crochet, knit and quilt, she created many beautiful gifts and gave them to those she loved.
Jeannie passed away peacefully surrounded by family while the song Amazing Grace played. She is preceded in death by her parents “Nick” and Mary; husband Keith; son-in-law Ray; and great-granddaughter Madyson.
She is survived by brother Nicholas “Sonny”; sister Dorothy “Dottie”; children, Mike (Debora), Kris (Ray) and Joe (Karen); grandchildren, Ryan (Mindy), Braedon (Molly), Shawn, Randy, Andrew (Jodi), Matthew (Nicole), Megan, and Dezirae; great grandchildren, Noah, Hayden, Waylon; Henry, Katelyn, Patrick, Nicholas, Carrie; Izaak, Keith, Elijah, Colt, Carter, Freyjia, Raven, Pearl, Thia and Wren.
Memorial service 11 AM Saturday, May 20 at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1 Shepherd Ct., Circle Pines. Visitation at the church from 10-11 AM Saturday. Memorial Service will be livestreamed through the church's website at https://www.goodshepherdlink.org/
