Jerome Kubash

Jerome “Jerry” Kubash, age 79 of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at his home in Balsam Lake.​Jerry was born on August 16, 1939 to John and Mary (Saric) Kubash in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended school in Milwaukee until the sixth grade when the family moved to Island Lake, MN, just north of Duluth. Jerry’s family had purchased a resort on Island Lake, and Jerry grew up spending time working at the resort. He graduated from Central High School in Duluth, and after high school he attended UMD where he met Patricia Winchell. After attending UMD for a year, Jerry was drafted into the Army. During his travel time in the service, he was united in marriage to Patricia Winchell on June 23, 1962. Jerry finished his service in the Army and he and Patricia moved to Duluth where Patricia took a job as a teacher, and Jerry finished his two year college degree at UMD. The couple was blessed with three children and in 1964 the family moved to the St. Paul area where Jerry took a job with the St. Paul Police Department. He served close to 25 years with the Police Department and retired at the age of 50. He and Patricia moved to their lake property in Wisconsin after Patricia’s retirement, where they were currently residing. Jerry loved to fish and hunt in his younger years, loved his guns and loved his family, especially his kids and grandkids. He was a member of the St. Paul Police Retirement Association, and he and Patricia enjoyed spending their winters in Texas.​Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, two sisters and his son, Stephen. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; daughters, Stephanie (Robert Davis) Blackwell, Stacee (David Johnson) Peterson; two grandchildren, Andrew (Heidi Schiesser) Miller and Cori Peterson; sister, Joan Kotlarek and many other loving relatives and friends.​A visitation will take place from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME - ROSEVILLE, 2130 N. Dale St. at County Road B. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:00 PM.
