John was talented in many ways. His lifelong work as a carpenter led him later in his career to his own cabinet business making beautiful and unique custom pieces until his retirement. John loved to play music and was an accomplished bass guitarist and harmonica player; he played in several bands and at jams from the East Coast to the Minneapolis/St. Paul and western Wisconsin area. Earlier in his music career, John was a member of the house band in a Georgetown jazz club where they opened for national acts including Muddy Waters and Etta James. John had a passion for fishing, especially bass fishing, and spent many hours on lakes throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. He loved to garden and grew wonderful vegetables each year. John was dearly loved and will be missed by family and friends.
