Jon “Fin” Finanger, age 66, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. Born in LaCrosse, WI., March 17, 1952, to Roald and Julia (nee Severson). Jon grew up in Rochester, MN and graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead. He spent his career working in the publishing industry and found passion in his second career serving as business manager and technical director for Prairie Airwaves. Jon’s passion was music. From playing bass alongside his drummer son Nick to delighting runners along the Twin Cities Marathon route, he loved to play anything from classic country to rock and roll. When he wasn’t slapping the bass, Jon could regularly be found taking in a game at Buffalo Wild Wings or running the illustrious Fin’s FFL fantasy football league for the last 30+ years. He is survived by his son, Nick; sister, Krismar (Frank) Cmiel; brother, Jim; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many, many friends. He is now reunited in heaven with his beloved wife Mary O’Neill, who he affectionately called Mare. Celebration of Life 11 A.M. on Saturday, January 19 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home-Roseville, 2130 N.
