Joni Delaney O'Connell, age 84 died on October 18, 2021 of congestive heart failure.Survived by her husband, Gerry Flood; children, Pegeen O’Connell (Mike Sage), Dan O’Connell, and Shannon Gallivan (Brent); grandchildren, Sean Ruedy, Heather and Colton O’Connell, Reena and Riley Gallivan; great-grandchildren, Maleah and Mekhi Cole and Delaney Ruedy; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Mary (Murray) Delaney, Jr.; brothers, Thomas Delaney III and infant brother, Christopher and many wonderful aunts/uncles/cousins/nieces/nephews. Also known as the “Ireland Lady”, as she escorted tours (following in her parents footsteps) to Ireland for more than 35 years. She also escorted tours to Spain/Portugal, Greece/Turkey, The Netherlands, Alaska, New England and Branson. Member of the St. Paul St. Patrick’s Association, having been selected as Distinguished Irish Woman in 2005. Past President and member of the St. Paul Hiking Club, having walked thousands of miles around St. Paul. Member of the Hamline Midway Elders group, where she taught arthritis-friendly exercise classes for more than a decade. Memorial service 11:00 AM Monday, November 22 at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME - ROSEVILLE, 2130 N. Dale St. at County Rd B. Visitation from 9-11 AM Monday 11/22.
