Joseph P. Shrake

Age 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 12, 2018, in Louisville, KY.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Quitney Shrake; father, Leon Wesley Shrake; sister, Barbara Berzinski; brothers, John Shrake and Francis Shrake; daughter-in-law, Susan Shrake; and grandson, Noah Shrake.  Joseph is survived by sons, Paul (Maria) Shrake, and Stephen Shrake; daughters, Susan Towsley, Mary (Aubrey)Lipscomb and Carolyn (Patrick) Douglas; grandchildren, Alexander Shrake, Eleena Shrake, Abigail Shrake, Madeline Shrake, Paul Shrake, Andrew (Megan) Towsley, Elizabeth (Kyle) Just, Aubrey Lipscomb III, Christine Lipscomb, Kassidy Douglas; great grandchildren, Elliott Towsley, Ava Shrake, Silas Just; brothers, James Shrake, Daniel Shrake, Mark Shrake; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  Joseph was a devout Catholic. He was a teacher, baseball and basketball coach, Athletic Director, and driver education teacher at De La Salle High School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Joseph was a family man and loved being with his family and friends. He was easy to talk with, he smiled easily, had a twinkle in his eye, and loved to make people smile. He was always up for an adventure, was a keen 500 card player, and enjoyed hosting pool parties.  Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Saturday, May 19 at The Church of St. Agnes, 548 Lafond Ave., St. Paul. Visitation from 4-8 PM Friday at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home-Roseville, 2130 N. Dale St. @ County Rd. B and also at church on Saturday from 9:00-10:00 AM. Interment: 1:30 PM, Saturday 5/19 at St. Mary's Cemetery, Winona, MN
