Julia "Kay" Peterson

Age 79, of St. Paul. Died on Saturday, March 13, 2021 after a long, courageous, and awe-inspiring battle with dementia.  Kay, born on December 23, 1941 in Faribault, MN to Kevin & Evelyn (Walsh) Balfe, was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother.  She is survived by loving husband of 56 years, Bob; their son, Jeff (Marna) Peterson of Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Julie (Keith) Rose of Champlin, MN; grandchildren, Zoë and Wyndham Peterson, Teddy, Jackson, and Sam Rose; siblings, Marty (Loretta) Balfe of Cannon Falls, MN, Chuck Balfe of Coon Rapids, MN, Claire Ludwig of Austin, MN, Greg (Abbie) Balfe of Faribault, MN, Pam (Tony) Edwards of Austin, MN, many nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents; and older sister, Patricia O’Banion.  Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Thursday, March 18 at ST. JOSEPH OF THE LAKES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 171 Elm St., Lino Lakes. Interment St. Joseph’s Church Cemetery. Visitation at MUELLER-BIES FUNERAL HOME-LINO LAKES, 7050 Lake Dr. (Cty Hwy 23) from 4-7 PM Wednesday.  The family is thankful to Encore Memory Care and Brighton Hospice for their care, comfort, and support during the end of Kay’s life.  In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
