On July 20, 2023, Katherine (Bugh) Line passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 83.
Katherine was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on December 17, 1939, to Fred and Lavone (Bonneville) Bugh. She was the fifth of six children. Katherine graduated from Johnson High School in 1957, and then went on to earn her degree as a registered nurse at Ravenswood College of Nursing in Chicago. Her first position was at Swift and Company in South St. Paul as a company nurse. Katherine enjoyed a long and successful career, specializing in orthopedics and neurology, at St. Luke’s and then at United Hospitals in St. Paul.
Katherine met and married her husband, Gerald, in 1963. They were married for nearly 40 years when he passed away in 2003. They were blessed with two daughters, Wendy (Mark Brilowski) and Carol (James Zinter), and four grandchildren, James (Mariah) and Addie Zinter and Joseph (Hannah Meile) and Katherine Brilowski.
Katherine enjoyed gardening, entertaining, trying new recipes, and spoiling her children and grandchildren, whom she adored. She was involved in the Red Hats and St. Mary’s Guild at Christ Episcopal Church. She also loved to travel, recently taking her grandchildren to Spain and her whole family to Italy.
Katherine is preceded in death by her parents, spouse, sister Wilma, brothers Roger and Bruce, and sister-in-law Carol Haskin. She is survived by her children and grandchildren, and her sisters, Marlene and Charlotte, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 7305 Afton Rd, Woodbury on Thursday, July 27; visitation will begin at 10 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11 AM. Luncheon will follow at the church. Interment will be at Acacia Park Cemetery at a later date.
