Kenneth Sternke

February 25, 1952 — June 18, 2022

Ken Sternke was born February 25, 1952 in Marshall to Harvey and Marie Sternke. He passed away June 18, 2022 at his home in Lino Lakes.Ken grew up in Ivanhoe with his eight siblings on their family farm, where they spent their time helping in the fields and getting into trouble. After moving to Minneapolis, he settled down by marrying his wife Denise Hamer, who just so happened to grow up in the next town over. They were married September 26, 1987 in Crystal, MN and would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary this year.He was a family man and always put his family first. From a home-cooked family dinner to weekends at the Sternke campout, his happiest times were spent surrounded by his loved ones.Besides spending time with his family, Ken enjoyed riding his bike, grilling no matter the season, reading a good suspense novel, taking his 'Vette for a spin and tending to his yard and plants. From season Vikings games, state fair trips, and yearly tropical vacations to enjoying a cold beer in the garage during the summer, he always filled his time with activities that made him happy. Prior to retirement, he was a dedicated and hard-working paint man for Valspar. He continued to serve his community after this career by volunteering at the church and the local food shelf. He was someone who truly appreciated the little things in life like having a quiet routine on a Sunday morning or finding a good sale on meat at the store. He is preceded in death by his father, Harvey; mother, Marie; and older brother, Dennis. He is survived by his wife, Denise; daughters, Chelsea, Justine and Jenny; and siblings Bob, Judy, Kathy, Renae, David, Joel and Lisa, along with several nieces and nephews. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed and forever loved. Rest in Peace Ken. We all love you.Funeral service 11 AM Friday, June 24 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1 Shepherd Ct., Circle Pines. Visitation from 4-7 PM Thursday 6/23 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home-Lino Lakes, 7050 Lake Dr. (County Hwy 23).
