Age 81, of Maplewood, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2024.
Preceded in death by parents, Mathias & Genevieve (Knoll) Haas; and siblings, Gary Haas & Kathleen Maaske.
Survived by wife of 59 years, Dorothy (Moes); children, Michael (Lisa) Haas, Christine Haas, and Amy (Mike) Helderman; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Ken Haas, Laurine (Mike) Ellsworth, and Steve (Sandy) Haas; sister-in-law, Nikki Haas; and brother-in-law, Richard Maaske.
Larry was born and raised in Cow Town (Hastings). He served in the Army testing missiles at the Nike Missile Base in Roberts, WI. Following his service in the Army, Larry worked at 3M (Cottage Grove), retiring in 2000.
Larry always enjoyed a good Oktoberfest as well as performing Bavarian music and dancing with Dorothy at German events. In his spare time, he was an avid gardener, repaired bikes as a hobby and sold watermelons. He was also known as an "animal charmer" and loved animals of all kinds. To family & friends, Larry will always be remembered as "Our Santa".
Visitation 2:00 - 6:00 pm Sunday, October 27 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home (Roseville), 2130 N. Dale St. at County Rd. B. Please come as you are in casual attire.
Private interment at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery, Hastings, MN.
