Lawrence "Larry" John Bisch, born February 11, 1922 in Le Sueur County at Marysburg, Minnesota. He was raised on a farm near Cleveland with his 6 siblings. He died peacefully in his home on October 26, 2022, with his family surrounding him in his final days. He was 100.Since he was a kid, Lawrence loved cars, especially Fords and this passion strongly influenced his work and leisure. He worked at the Ford plant, ran Larry’s Pure Oil gas station on University and Western Avenues and worked as a City of St. Paul mechanic for over 20 years. He loved car shows, car racing and even went to the Indy 500 with his brother Allie.Lawrence was also a World War II Army veteran, as a tank man and took part in Tennessee Maneuvers. After the service he was highly active in the VFW including serving as post commander.Lawrence was a devoted Catholic and attended St. Vincent de Paul’s church in St. Paul for almost 60 years. For many years he served as the church's janitor and was very involved in church life. In addition, he was a member of Knights of Columbus.Lawrence was a family man who enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially remembered the tent trailer vacations the family took when his children were young. His family will miss his love for life, his easy-going nature and his sense of humor. When asked how he made it to 100, he would say, “stay curious”. He often mentioned Grain Belt Beer as being part of his staying power too!He is preceded in death by his wife, Loretta (Reichow) Bisch; his parents, John and Helena; his siblings, Allie, Robert, Harold, Mary, Stanley and Lorretta. He is survived by his children, Joseph, Julie (Steve) Boldt, Janice and Jennifer; and grandson, Jeremy. The family would like to thank the caregivers from Synergy Home Care, Mt. Olivet Day Services , and the VA Vets Club for the care and kindness they have shown our dad.Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Friday, November 4 at The Church of St. Vincent, 651 Virginia St., St. Paul.
