Lois Mae (Knudson) Wandmacher, age 93, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2024.
She was born November 24, 1930 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Earl Edward Knudson and Anna Adelle (Bulow) Knudson. She attended St. Paul Johnson High School. Lois was preceded in death by her older sister, Shirley Fisher; and her younger sister, Vivian Johnson. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Lois was a devoted and loving wife to her husband of 70 years, three sons, and daughter. Her faith and relationship with the Lord were evident in her life as she was an active member at North Heights Lutheran Church for over 60 years serving in Sunday School, prayer teams, women’s Bible Studies, and a variety of other roles. Lois was a loving supporter and encourager for her children and grandchildren in their various youth sports, plays, and musicals throughout the years.
Her life was filled with the joy of her family and friends. She enjoyed countless family picnics, reunions, parades, and parties where she was so gifted in bringing the people she loved together for laughter & memories. Lois enjoyed several adventures to Europe and she and Burt spent their retirement traveling to New Braunfels, Texas where they enjoyed warmer winters gathered with dear friends and family. Lois was also a talented writer, specifically poetry, and used this gift as a way to draw near to the Lord.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, Burton Wandmacher; and their children, Robert (Lynn), Richard, David, and Judy (John) Axelson; and their grandchildren, Doug, Corissa (Justin), Robin (Atsushi), Cassandra (Josh), Kelsey, Charles (Katie), Cadrian (Brock), Jillian (Braden) and Elisha; and their great-grandsons, River and Silas, and great-granddaughter, baby Mae (on the way).
The family would like to thank Optage Hospice and Johanna Shores (Presbyterian Homes) for providing a loving and supportive environment to accommodate her ever increasing needs and care. The family is requesting memorials to either of these organizations in her honor.
