Louis “Lou” Randolph Lentsch passed away peacefully surrounded by family in his Maplewood home on December 26th, 2024 at the age of 66.
Lou is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jean, who built a beautiful and faith-filled life with him and their three sons, August (Mollie), Ehren (Catherine), and Peter. He is survived by his 10 charming grandchildren, Mary (11), Helen (10), Alice (8), Lewis (7), Owin (5), Thomas (5), Joseph (4), Martha (2), Brock (1) and James (8 months).
Lou is preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth, and father, Louis.
Lou is known by many from his restaurant Governors Fine Food & Drink, which he owned for over 30 years in Saint Paul’s East Side. Lou retired in 2017, bringing his charisma and penchant for fixing anything to helping others in his retirement job at Home Depot - continuing his service to others. Anyone who knew Lou knew his kindness, pride in service, and his love for paddling any body of water in his canoe - which he built himself, showing that Lou’s profound ability to build extended to both life and craft.
