Louise C. Knowlan

Louise Clarabelle (Postema) Knowlan, 95, died peacefully in her sleep on December 26, 2022.

Louise was born on May 1, 1927, to Dirk and Catharina Postema. She was raised in St. Paul, and graduated from Murray High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Edward Knowlan, and enjoyed 57 years of marriage. They built their own home outside of Forest Lake, where they raised their family.

Louise was a master gardener, a phenomenal baker, and a skilled seamstress and knitter who made many clothes for herself and her family.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.  

She is survived by her children, Kay Ciccone and Craig (Terri) Knowlan; grandchildren, Catrina Ciccone (Sessily Watt), Danny (Hannah) Knowlan, Christopher Ciccone, and Elizabeth Knowlan; and great-grandchildren Jayden and Amelia Knowlan.

The family would like to thank St. Anthony Park Home, and particularly Louise’s favorite aide, Jampa, for their excellent care of her in her final years.

 Funeral service at ST. MARK LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1 North Rd., Circle Pines, on Friday December 30 at 11AM. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
