Lucerne C. Tapson

Age 87 of Mounds View.​Preceded in death by son, Gary; brother, Donald Jr; sister, Mary; and parents, Gladys and Donald. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol; sons, Thomas, Steven and Randy; sisters, Doris, Deloris and Grace. ​Lu grew up on the family farm in Hannah, ND and graduated from Wales High School in 1950. Later in the army he was stationed in San Francisco where he manned a microwave relay station. This experience would serve him well when in 1958 he started his career as a broadcast engineer at the new public television station KTCA TV. Lu retired from KTCA after 40 years. In his retirement he liked to spend time on his land in Harris, MN and keeping an eye on the stock market. ​A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
