Margaret "Meg" Atkins

Age 87, of Shoreview.​Preceded in death by daughter, Martha Atkins-Sakry; and brother, Allen Millard.  Survived by loving husband, Bill; daughters, Nettie (Paul) Doeden, Leah (Brian) Seim; son-in-law, Joe Sakry; grandchildren, Natasha, Kara, Sabrina, Tony, Hawken, Mary, Erin, Elizabeth, Spencer, and Aurora; sister, Emmy Hein; and other family and friends.​Meg loved dogs, birds and horses (owning one for several years). She loved to be outdoors, either hiking, river rafting, camping or skiing with her husband Bill. She taught skiing for 18 years with Skijammers Alpine School, instilling a love of skiing in all of her students.  She was also heavily involved with her daughter’s activities, including leading their 4-H groups for a number of years.  She was a great baker, apple pie being Bill’s favorite desert she made. She was also an avid knitter, creating many sweaters for her family.  She worked for many years as a Medical Technologist at an Oncology Clinic in St. Paul, a job that required precision and attention to detail.  While Parkinson’s robbed her of many of the activities she loved to do, she always cheerful and had a mischievous smile that would light up the room, and will be missed by many.
